Core Plastic Surgery, Birmingham, AL, USA.
PURPOSE:Introducing the longest experience for endoscopic brow lifting in the world, spanning the course of more than 32 years with 1231 cases from 1992 to 2024. Endoscopic brow lifting was first introduced in 1992, and the procedure has encountered success and controversy of changes over the years. The procedure has evolved to successfully meet all issues of forehead aging, yet still maintain the original goal of leaving no pre-hairline scars while achieving aesthetic outcomes. The author’s personal experience will be reported herein.
METHODS:A retrospective analysis of 1231 patients was conducted over 32 years, which included patient demographics, indications, surgical techniques, complications and patient satisfaction. Data was collected from patient records, photographic documentation, and patient interviews. Key elements of the algorithmic approach were identified, including assessment criteria for patient selection. New techniques were developed to address the entire spectrum of forehead aging. We will present the entire algorithm of indications and relevant techniques.
RESULTS:Findings demonstrated evolution and refinement of techniques over the years, resulting in notable improvement in aesthetic results and patient satisfaction. Complications remained low, which will be presented along with typical aesthetic outcomes.
CONCLUSION: Endoscopic assisted forehead rejuvenation has been shown to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results all the while leaving no trace of surgical intervention.
